Renovation estimates: from photos to a budget
An AI renovation estimate is a starting point for your budget. It uses the photos, information and any measurements you provide to Fixer. It is not a binding quote from a tradesperson.
1. What is an AI renovation estimate?
Fixer uses photos and your answers to describe the job and suggest materials, quantities and a price range. LiDAR can add room measurements on supported iPhone models. Without that scan, you need to check and provide relevant measurements yourself.
The estimate helps you clarify a project and ask a tradesperson better questions. It cannot reveal every condition behind walls, under floors or inside existing installations. AI can misunderstand a photo or suggest an incorrect quantity.
2. What affects the cost of a renovation?
Project size, material choices and quality affect both purchasing costs and labour. Access, travel, protection of the property, demolition and disposal can also change the budget.
Existing damage, damp, hidden services or specialist work may only become clear during a site visit or the work itself. A price shown in the app does not confirm stock availability or that the same price will be available later.
Check the currency, taxes, included costs and whether a figure is an example. Fixer does not pay for renovation work or set the final price between you and a tradesperson.
3. How to use your estimate
1. Describe the result you want and take clear photos. Keep documents, people and other sensitive information out of the frame.
2. Review the description and materials. Correct errors, add missing information and check measurements.
3. Use the range for planning. Ask a qualified tradesperson to check the actual conditions and provide a quote.
4. Compare quotes for the same scope. Confirm the price, conditions and timeline in writing before acceptance.
4. Can I get a quote from a tradesperson?
You can choose to make your project available to tradespeople through Fixer. At most three tradespeople can buy access to the same job. Buying access does not guarantee a quote or a resulting contract.
When a tradesperson sends a quote, check the contracting business, scope and applicable terms. Acceptance in the app can be binding. The renovation agreement is between you and the tradesperson.
5. Who operates Fixer?
Fixer is developed and operated by Tap Media Group, CVR 43474030, Denmark. Homeowners use the app free. Tradespeople pay for the customer enquiries they choose to unlock.
Fixer provides contact and planning tools. An estimate, AI visualisation or public tradesperson profile does not guarantee a result, safety, permits or the tradesperson’s qualifications. Read the terms and privacy policy when assessing the service.
